Second Day of CPE

Holy cow! Am I tired. How do medical professionals on the hospital floor do this every day?

I've always had the utmost respect for doctors, nurses and support staff before but my word.

I was assigned to the Adult Intensive Care Unit (ICU) as well as the High Risk Mothers Unit. The first set of rounds were done on my own (felt like an expresso-filled little Chihuahua dog on the inside) and the second set of rounds were done accompainied by a retired Navy Corpsman now Chaplain (a rather intense experience given his fast-paced, task-driven approach to rounds). Learned a lot. Hope I can remember it when the time is right.

Must trade in my fashion sense with wearing comfortable shoes even if they don't match my outfit (I'm wearing a lab coat of the floor anyhow so what does it matter). It makes no sense to wear stylish shoes if it makes you walk with a limp. I want people to think that I'm the chaplain, not a patient.
